Our commitment
TIKVA is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility reflects our belief that everyone belongs, and we treat it as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task.
Conformance status
This Site is built with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. Referencing WCAG 2.1 AA as a build target does not constitute a certification or conformance audit, and we do not represent that the Site fully conforms to any particular WCAG level. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we continue to improve the Site as part of regular maintenance.
This statement describes our accessibility approach and does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or certification of conformance to any accessibility standard or law. If your needs require a formal accessibility audit or report, please contact us using the details below and we will work with you to find a path forward.
What we have done
Accessibility is built into the site by hand, not added as an overlay. Measures include:
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure, landmarks, and a “skip to content” link.
- Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Color contrast that meets the WCAG AA ratio for text.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images.
- Responsive layouts that work across phones, tablets, and desktops, and that support browser zoom and larger text.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting, so animations are minimized for people who prefer that.
- Form fields with clear, associated labels and status messages announced to assistive technology.
Known limitations
Some parts of the Site rely on third-party services that we do not fully control, and their accessibility may vary. These include New Hope’s giving platform (Planning Center), consent manager (Osano), and bot-protection widget (Cloudflare Turnstile). If any of these creates a barrier for you, please contact us and we will help you complete your task another way.
How we test
We evaluate accessibility through a combination of automated checks and manual testing, including keyboard-only navigation and review against the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. We review accessibility as part of our regular website maintenance.
