80%
The majority of displaced persons in Medellín’s marginalized areas are women and children, particularly single mothers who face extreme poverty and lack of access to essential resources. Economic instability pushes many into vulnerable situations, including exploitation and gender-based violence.
63%
In Medellín, over 63% of women have experienced some form of violence, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The risk of violence increases in economically vulnerable households, where women lack job opportunities and are often forced into unsafe environments.

By supporting the TIKVA Care Shelter, you’re providing more than just temporary relief. Your contributions ensure that vulnerable women and children have access to safe housing, nourishing meals, emotional support, and the tools they need to become independent. With your help, we’re not only addressing their immediate needs but also setting them on a path to long-term success and stability.
